5 tech entrepreneurs that changed the India

Post On 29-10-2019.

In a developing country like India, there has been an urgent need for tech geniuses in order to compete with the rising competition from all over the world.

Thankfully, in the last decade, we saw a surprising jump in the number of people who stepped forward and introduced us to products that were much needed. In this piece, we will get to know about five of those miraculous gentlemen who laid down a network of technologies that are helping us to this date.

1) Coming at number one, we have Vijay Shekhar Sharma of PayTm. This 40 years old gentleman has been ranked at 1394th spot in the Forbes list of world's richest people with a net worth of about 2.2 billion dollars.

His firm made it possible for us to do mobile recharges, money transactions, booking movie tickets, and so much more just at the expense of a few megabytes of our daily data.

If someone had told me about a decade back that this is gonna be the future of payments, I would have definitely laughed them off.

But thanks to Vijay Shekhar Sharma for his contribution that it is now possible.

PayTm's name was tossed up in a scandal at the beginning of the year 2019, which involved the names of top officials of the company, but that didn't stop the company from making our lives easier like always.

2) Sameer Gehlaut of the IndiaBulls group is ranked at 729th spot in the Forbes list of world's richest people with a net worth of 4.5 billion dollars. His firm is a leading giant in the field of personal finances and real estate. Having endorsed multiple programs, IndiaBulls holds its strong position in the market even today.

Sameer Gehlaut has been working as the managing director and the chairman of this tech firm since its inception. Sameer Gehlaut is an IIT, Delhi alumnus, and he has been at the front foot when it comes to leading his company.

Indiabulls had recently launched an app with the name Dhani which had Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the former captain of the Indian Cricket Team, as its brand ambassador.

The Dhani app helped people get loans easily without the regular hassles they have to face when gone with the traditional ways.

3) At number three, we have Divyank Turakhia, who is now a resident of United Arab Emirates but was born an Indian. He belonged to a middle-class family in Mumbai and completed his graduation from Narsee Monjee College.

Divyank is best known for his venture named, which was sold to a Chinese firm for a record 900 million dollars as it was the third-largest ad-tech deal that happened at that time.

Divyank Turakhia was born on January 29, 1982, and his net worth is estimated at 1.76 billion dollars as of 2017.

Divyank has been felicitated with several awards, which include Youngest Indian billionaire, Youngest self-made gulf billionaire, etc.

Divyank was ranked 95th on the Forbes list of India's hundred richest people in 2016, and he was also honored with the Panache Trendsetter Award by The Economic Times for his contribution.

4) Binny Bansal is one of the co-founders of India's largest e-commerce giant named Flipkart. Flipkart was launched in 2007 with the vision of making online shopping a viable option for the generations to come and how wonderfully has it turned out to be real. Binny, along with Sachin Bansal, founded the company.

He served as the chief operating officer of Flipkart for nine years before being promoted to the position of CEO in 2017.

In 2018, Binny resigned from the company because of some personal misconduct allegations, but his work for the company has definitely helped it reached the height that it stands at.

Binny is also an IIT, Delhi alumnus with a degree in CSE. He has been honored with several accolades, like being ranked at #26 in India's most powerful people of the 2017 list.

5) At number five, we have Ritesh Agarwal‚Äč. The founder of India's biggest network of hotels, Oyo rooms. Ritesh Agarwal has been hailed as one of the most influential people in India because of his startup.

Oyo rooms are to hotels what Ola is to cabs. Simply put, this young techpreneur has helped an entire nation get a room of their choice with reliability and ease.

Trivago is close behind Oyo, but this giant keeps tracking new heights with each passing day. Oyo rooms have made it possible for our generation to get the best rooms at affordable prices.

Ritesh Agarwal has significantly changed our hotel experience with this venture of his, and his name is surely gonna be remembered for his contribution.

The list goes on as there are a lot of people who are veterans in the technopreneurship and haven't even been named here, which makes us feel a little guilty, but we will make up for that in another list of India's top veteran tech entrepreneurs.
